HIDDEN PLACES
This exhibit symbolizes all the peace and serenity that we give meaning to in our hidden and secret places. Whether our hidden places are real or just in our minds, these places take us away from our daily hectic lives and ground us for any period of time. - Andrew Kwiecinski
Andrew was born in Poland where he received his formal education in fine arts. He established himself as a landscape and figure painter and participated in many one-man and group exhibitions in Poland, West Germany, Denmark Belgium and Sweden.
The technical skills finely developed over the years are obvious in Kwiecinski's work but it is beyond the technical precision that we are drawn to and are interested in the artist and this energetic expression. His love of the land and its interpretation through the medium of watercolour intensified when he immigrated to Canada in 1981. His paintings are fluid and atmospheric, with an interesting and unusual use of light and light sources. Much of his work is done around his home in Waterloo, Ontario and throughout the central and southern areas of the province. His fascination with the Canadian landscape has also drawn him on a number of painting tours to British Columbia, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.
Mr. Kwiecinski exhibits in one-man and group shows across Canada and the United States and has been a guest lecturer with the Emily Carr School of Fine Art in British Columbia. His work may be found in public, corporate and private collections in Europe and North America.
