"Terra Incognita"

Véronique Lehouck and Bret Culp are two Canadian landscape photographers.

Their work shows a shared awareness of one of nature’s great paradoxes – its frailty versus its resilience. Terra Incognita is an exploration of this paradox.

Véronique and Bret are drawn to locales that are majestic and magical.

The figureless environments have an abstract quality that evokes a human dimension. Some resemble parts of the body, while others suggest more symbolic aspects of existence.

Both artists work in the Canadian film and television industry. Véronique developed her photographic eye by working as a cinematographer for many years and she now produces educational videos. Bret is visual effects supervisor for feature films and the director of visual effects at C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures, Canada's largest visual effects studio.
