C.A.Henry
C.A. Henry was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1954 to a Peruvian mother and a British military father. The eighth of eleven siblings, Henry found his spotlight being creative. They moved to Canada in 1957. In Canada even before starting school, Henry can remember being praised by family and friends for his artwork that he readily executed.
C.A. was influenced greatly by family roots and philosophies. Faith made an impact early in his life. He was impressed by action instead of dialogue through the spiritual inspiration of his mother and early tribal ancestory. His determination and persistence came from the Celtic character of C.A.'s father.
Upon graduation a mentor came into C.A.'s life, Arthur Shilling, a renowned artist. It was Shilling who encouraged and guided Christopher Allen to his vocation. This meeting changed his life forever.
To study C.A.'s work is a lesson in oneness. Earth with man & woman, the love of nature through paint, a study of oneself through solitude, a feeling of "being there" in body and soul.
"It's not so much the result as the intent. Not the having done, as the doing. Not so much the painting of a picture, as the living of a life."
