With my recent work, I have been concentrating on ways of representing a range of imagery.
Although I strive for a certain level of "visual plausibility" in my work, representational accuracy is not my prime objective.
The qualities most particular to painting, result from the manual transformation of coloured paste to an image on canvas.
Visual evidence of this manual process acts as a subtext for the reading of interpreting the overall image.
In each painting, I'm searching for the most compelling combination of imagery and abstract paint quality.
