---------------------

Donald Beaubier was born and raised in the farming country of Southern Alberta- a descendant of two pioneer homesteading families. For the past quarter century, however, he has lived and worked in his adopted home on the Southern Shore in Newfoundland.

He is a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design (Calgary), the University of Calgary, and St. Francis Xavier University. He has exhibited nationally for many years, beginning with Perspective 67, a juried exhibition sponsored by the Canadian Government Centennial Commission at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. Since that time he has shown in many solo and group exhibitions across Canada, and his work has been included in the Canadian pavilions at two world fairs and in Canadian Embassy exhibitions in Germany, Japan and Washington DC. He has won numerous awards and has been nominated for the Saidye Bronfman Award for excellence in crafts in Canada.
