Gill Aysegul Birol is an award winning graphic artist currently combining line, space and texture in enchanting contemporary jewellery. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Gill earned a BA in Applied Fine Arts from Marmara University of Istanbul. For over a decade she has been polishing her creativity as a jewellery designer on three continents. She's collected the ancient, fused with the contemporary to bring forth unique, wearable art forms. Fine gems, semiprecious stones with organic and industrial materials such as spices mixed with epoxy may be found upon her designing palette.
Gill proudly concludes, “My creative style is constantly evolving as is life in Canada…like the seasons and the waves upon beaches, no two pieces are the same... Uncovering the satisfyingly asymmetrical aspects of nature in the north... Discovering and working with new materials is my daily inspiration...”
