Jeanette was born in Holland in 1960. While growing up, painting wasn’t a dream. The passion to paint was discovered after leaving high school. Jeanette’s talent was uncovered while she worked for two years as a Delft Blue Pottery painter. Working with paint, brushes, and colour felt natural.
This talent needed to be perfected. Jeanette left painting Delftware and obtained a BA in Fine Art and Textiles in 1983. She has since worked as a teacher and graphic designer, but the passion to paint continued to grow.
She left Holland for England in 1989 and then moved to Canada with her young family in 1997. Jeanette’s early work focused on the human form - both portrait and full figure. Today Nature has gripped Jeanette, so today she focuses on landscapes. Having worked with watercolours, acrylics and even the computer as a painting tool, she now works primarily in oils..
Jeanette works full time as an Art Director. She occasionally teaches art classes, but finds it more and more important to express herself on canvas.
She has been involved in various group shows as well as solo exhibitions. Many of her images found their way into her graphic design work. Many more, some of which were commissioned, have found their way into private collections.
