Olga Zyta Balicki

Olga Zyta Balicki born in Milicz, Poland, incorporates cultural influences from both her native country and her adoptive Canada. Her one of a kind jewellery pieces are influences by nature and clean modern form. This "Organic-Industrial " style is a composite of the modern industrial Germany of her childhood, and a rich environment heritage (from both here, and her native Poland). The duality and conflict between these two traditionally opposed elements is blended into a unique and beautiful hybrid. Each piece reflects the intrinsic two-sided nature inherent in modern life, exhibiting a balance between the natural environment and the man made world.

With a deep respect and fondness, this artist portrays organic beauty by utilizing both precious and unconventional materials. The pieces are examples of unique and inspired design, while demonstrating precision and skill as a silversmith and jewellery artist.

Olga's current collection makes use of silver, gold, pearls, resin, bone and organic materials to produce a simultaneously sleek, sensual line. It introduces concepts of morality and interesting, "polished" eroticism. The collection is both beautiful and wearable.

Her future plans include the further exploration of this "Organic-Industrial" style through the use of media, design, and technique. She will continue development of both inspired, and custom (one of a kind) jewellery pieces.
