Silberschmuck is a German word meaning "silver jewellery". The "S" is pronounced as a "Z" sound so we spelled it that way for our English speaking customers.

The vast majority of our collection is 925 sterling silver, however we also have jewellery in white and yellow gold, titanium and stainless steel. Many of the jewellers are goldsmiths and can create their jewellery in gold and platinum by special order.

Fine silver is pure silver; and it is too soft for jewellery. 925 silver is an alloy comprising 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper to give it strength. In the past, nickel was mixed with the silver because of its white colour and hardness. Many people were found to have a nickel allergy so it has been replaced with copper.
